APUB-UGC Meeting on Higher Education Issues
A meeting between Association of Private Universities, Bangladesh and University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh was held on higher education issues.
At the meeting held at UGC on Thursday, 12th December 2019, private university organizers said one of the catalysts for economic transformation was the trained community. Private universities of the country are playing a major role in the historical evolution of the nation by producing about one lakh graduates a year.
Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Prof. Kazi Shahidullah, Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Chairman of the Private University Association; Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP; Nazrul Islam Babu, MP; Member of the Grant Commission. Prof. Akhtar Hossain; Vice-Chairman of the University Association Professor Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Professor Shafiq Ahmed Siddique, Secretary-General Benajir Ahmed; Treasurer, KBM Moinuddin Chishty; Joint Secretary General; Dr. Kazi Anis Ahmed attended the meeting.
Prof. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman and other Members of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council visited the Association of Private universities of Bangladesh (APUB) and took part in a courtesy meeting with the Executive Committee of APUB on 11th November, 2019. Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, President of APUB presided over the meeting.
Prof. Kazi Shahidullah, Chairman and other Members of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh visited the Association of Private universities of Bangladesh (APUB) and took part in a courtesy meeting with the Executive Committee of APUB on 21st October, 2019. Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, President of APUB presided over the program.
A discussion meeting with all Honorable Ministers and Members of the Parliament (MP) of Private University Trustee Members was held on 25th June 2019 at the Ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka. Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Chairman, Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) presided over the meeting.
Meeting with UGC new Chairman
A seven members delegation of Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) made a courtesy call with Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, newly appointed Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh at the UGC Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka on 16 June 2019.
The delegation led by Association Chairman Mr. Sheikh Kabir Hossain greeted him with flower bouquet.
Doa and Iftar Party of APUB
A Doa and Iftar Party of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) was held on 20th May 2019, 15-Ramadan-1440 at the Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka. Dr. Dipu Moni, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education attended the program as the Chief Guest. Members of the Board of Trustees, Vice-Chancellors from different universities, Members of the Parliament, Administrators and dignitaries of the country took part in the Doa and Iftar Party.
Grand Reception to the Members of Parliament and Cabinet Ministers from Trustees Boards of the Privates Universities of Bangladesh
A reception ceremony for the Members of the National Parliament and Cabinet Ministers from Trustees Boards of the Privates Universities of Bangladesh was held on Wednesday, 6th February 2019 at the Westine Dhaka Hotel. The reception was organised by the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB).
Dr. Dipu Moni, Minister, Ministry of Education as the Chief Guest of the program handed over crests to recipients who are Members of the National Parliament and Cabinet Ministers from Trustees Boards of the Privates Universities of Bangladesh.
Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), Prof. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman of Bangladesh Accreditation Council were the special guests, while Md. Sohrab Hossain, Secretary to the Education Ministry of Bangladesh also attended the program.
Sheikh Kabir Hossain, Chairman of Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) chaired the program. Benajir Ahmed, Secretary General, APUB and Former Chairman of North South University delivered welcome speeches. Vote of thanks was given by Nafeez Sarafat, Chairman, Canadian University of Bangladesh.
Members of the National Parliament and Cabinet Ministers from Trustee Boards of the Privates Universities of Bangladesh, Tipu Munshi, MP, Minister, Ministry of Commerce and Member, BOT of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology; AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, MP, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Water resources and Founder Chairman, Port City International University; Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, Former Information Minister and Founder Trustees of Rabindra Maitree University, Kushtia delivered speeches.
Among others Abdul Motin Khasru, MP, Former Minister and Founder Chairman of CCN University of Science & Technology, Comilla; Mirza Azam, MP Trustee Member of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University; and Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, Chairman, University of Liberal Arts were present.
